Under Her
Immaculate Mantle

Total consecration to Mary — leading souls closer to Christ

Who We Are

Knights of the Immaculata

A Marian movement rooted in Franciscan spirituality, devoted to prayer, sacrifice, and the conversion of souls through Mary Immaculate.

🕊

Consecration

Members make an Act of Total Consecration to Mary Immaculate — offering themselves as her instruments in the salvation of souls.

📿

The Rosary

Daily recitation of the Holy Rosary forms the heart of our devotion, meditating on the mysteries of Christ through Mary's eyes.

Community

We gather across four deaneries in the Archdiocese — East Rand, Soweto, West Rand, and Vaal — united in one faith.

Our Emblem

The Miraculous Medal

The Miraculous Medal stands as the emblem of the Militia Immaculata, designed according to a vision of the Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré in 1830. It bears the image of Mary standing on a globe, crushing the serpent beneath her feet.

All who wear it with faith and devotion have reported countless graces. Members of the Sodality wear or carry the Medal as a sign of their total consecration and their identity as Knights of the Immaculata.

"O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

Our Deaneries

Across Johannesburg

Four deaneries united under one Sodality — each serving their local parish communities across the Archdiocese.

Sacred Calendar

Our Special Months

Three months of the year hold particular significance for members of the Sodality.

May

Month of Our Lady

May is traditionally devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary — a time for May Crownings, the Rosary, and acts of love and consecration to our Heavenly Mother.

October

Month of the Holy Rosary

October honours Our Lady of the Rosary, instituted by Pope St. Pius V in 1571. The entire month calls the faithful to daily Rosary for peace and protection.

December

Month of the Immaculate Conception

December culminates in the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on the 8th — the great feast of the Sodality, honouring Mary as Full of Grace from her very conception.
